Getting started with a Polar heart rate monitor is easy. First, make sure you thoroughly wet the electrodes on back of the strap with water and snap the transmitter into place. Then place the strap on your chest prior to starting the watch. Tip: it is best to stand away from others when starting the watch. When you are finished with your workout detach transmitter, rinse the strap with water and hang dry.

I purchased the FT60 and received it a week ago. I LOVE IT! Over the last year I’ve lost 48 pounds using the free LoseIt app (calorie and exercise recording) and exercising, and I REALLY wish I had this monitor the whole time. I purchased it now because the last few pounds have felt impossible to lose and I want to know what my heartrate and calorie burn are more accurately. I also want to know how to better exercise as I transition from weight loss to weight management.

I love the OWNZONE function, which helps me know the correct heartrate zones according to MY body – not some generic generalized formula. I have found it very helpful in my exercise classes, and often find that my heartrate is going too high for fat burning. I actually have to slow it down sometimes!

I have found this comfortable to wear and easy to use. I don’t even notice I’m wearing the chest strap.

One Tip: Go online and find the user manual – it is much more informative than what comes with the monitor. It helped me figure out how to use the OWNZONE function, which I don’t think I would have found in the submenus otherwise.

I love this watch!! I started off with an FT4 just a basic calorie tracking watch. This watch is 100 times better. It has a lot of features. It tells you how long you spent in certain zones, diff types of goals etc… I love working out.. Now I love it even more.

The strap is rubbery soft. It looks big on my wrist but it’s nice and stylish. Even it you’re not super serious about fitness.. I would get this over the ft4. It does everything the ft4 does and more. You don’t have to use all the features. Save yourself the research and just purchase this watch!

The watch is easy to use and read. During workouts, I keep it on the zone mode so I can make sure I’m keeping my heart rate where it should be. Strap on the heart rate monitor is comfortable & there haven’t been any problems connecting to the watch.
